Arts for All August Newsletter!

We had a busy month in August, making the most of the summer. Here is what we got up to...

A trip to Liverpool

Caroline took Robert and Philip up to Liverpool for the day. Both Robert and Phil love the Beatles, and this was a bucket list trip for Robert. Each year he has asked if we can go, and this year was the year! Caroline has some friends in Liverpool so they were the tour guides for the day - they went to the Beatles Story, for a walk through the city to look at the statues, a lovely lunch at Jolli Bee and then to the Cavern Club where there was live music!

A film & activity at the Art'otel Hoxton

We took the Rainbow Club and the kids down to the Art'otel to watch Christopher Robin, and then use their space to create works inspired by the film.

A day out to Greenwich

We took the Uber boat down to Greenwich for the day with the Rainbow Club, it was the perfect weather and we enjoyed a lovely al fresco lunch at the Trafalgar Tavern and wandered around the markets.

A day trip to Newmarket

We went down to Newmarket for the day with the Rainbow Club to visit Stephen and Stephanie, our friends and patrons of the charity.

Visits from old friends...

Rosie, who used to volunteer regularly with us came back from New Zealand for a quick visit - so we went out to the breakfast club for a big catch up!

Circus School

As one of our trips with the kids club, we took them to circus school! It was definitely a success with the children saying it might have been one of their favourite summer activities to date!

A girlie day

For so long Alice has been asking Debbie to go to her house of a cup of tea, so we decided one day to organise a visit to Alice's and then a nice lunch out, so they could spend time with eachother.

We've made it onto a law firms walls!

We have a wonderful relationship with Proskauer, who commissioned the Rainbow Club to paint three large canvases for their office. We delivered them, and a couple of weeks later were invited back for an amazing reception to celebrate the works and talk about them with the team there.

Our next exhibition!

A reminder for you all that the date of our next exhibition is Wednesday 17th September from 5pm - 7.30pm, at The Think Tank Auditorium, 8 Bishopsgate, EC2N 4BQ.

Put it in your diaries! There will be 40 original framed works available to purchase, with lots of unframed pieces also available. There may also be a possibility of framed prints to purchase!

This exhibition will be inspired by the work of Charlie Mackesy.

We have been running workshops where we've discussed his work, read through his book "The Boy, The Mole, The Fox & The Horse". We've watched the film, and done animal drawing workshops. This year we have had such an amazing number of participants from both clubs, with such a high level of enthusiasm.
